Coffee brings comfort and delight to millions worldwide, and since 2019 , The Coffee Cart San Diego has been dedicated to sharing this joy. In 2022, we expanded from full-time espresso catering to also opening our first specialty coffee shop in the heart of Sorrento Valley's biotech hub. Today, both businesses thrive side by side. Whether you need to caffeinate a corporate event or just the perfect morning pick-me-up, we are here to serve you a lot of light in a little cup!

Despite opening just a few months before the pandemic, owner Marcela Estrop, was able to survive the global crisis and grow The Coffee Cart San Diego into a successful business. She attributes this to her faith, perseverance and resilience which she believes is engrained in her spirit as a Latina.

Marcela was born in Mexico City, but spent her formative years in the Bay Area. She moved to San Diego to attend UC San Diego for undergraduate and graduate school, and spent the following 25 years in corporate sales. Marcela believes professionalism, reliability and customer service are keys to success. Her ability to build lasting relationships with clients and her commitment to quality & flavor have made The Coffee Cart San Diego and The Coffee Cart Café a success.

In 2022, Marcela was invited to take over a café space in Sorrento Valley, the center of San Diego’s biotech community. The real-estate company Marcela had been catering espresso for was impressed with her company’s service and the quality of the coffee. They thought The Coffee Cart San Diego would be the perfect company to bring to life a much needed specialty coffee shop in the business park they owned.

On August 1, 2022 The Coffee Cart Café at SOVA opened its doors to the public. The café also specializes in espresso, but offers an extended menu including house made cold brew, batch brew, and a variety of organic teas including chai & matcha, house made syrups and vegan pastries by SPLIT Bakehouse. Like the catering operation, the café is dedicated to bringing forth a high quality coffee experience from start to finish and serving up a lot of light in every little cup sold.

The Coffee Cart San Diego is a full-service, upscale mobile espresso bar specializing in specialty coffee catering for corporate events, private parties, and weddings. Our bar is staffed with professionally trained baristas ready to bring the specialty coffee and café experience to you with their passion and expertise. Each drink is hand crafted in the moment using specialized equipment, locally roasted specialty coffee and barista-quality milks and accompaniments.

No power? No problem! Our pop-up espresso bar is self-contained and able to work away from water sources, making it possible for us to set up quickly and begin creating freshly-brewed espresso drinks in any indoor or outdoor location.
